Cwmbran Community Council holds around 7 Summer Playschemes
each year and caters for over 1000 children of primary school
age. Last year children enjoyed a wide range of activities
including trips to Techniquest, Bristol Zoo & Greenmeadow
Community Farm. The playschemes are financed entirely by Cwmbran
Community Council.
This year Cwmbran Community Council is in the process of
organising seven Summer Playschemes being held at Coed Eva
Infants School, Fairwater Junior School, Greenmeadow Primary
School, Henllys Church in Wales School, Hollybush Primary
School, Maendy Primary School and Oakfield Primary School.
Playschemes start on Monday 28th July and finish Friday 22nd
August 2003. Registration Forms will be available from Monday
2nd June from participating schools and Cwmbran Community
Council, The Council House, Ventnor Road, Old Cwmbran (tel
01633 838456).
Cwmbran Community Council's Summer Playschemes caters for
children aged 5 to 11. (Primary School Age) Cwmbran Community
Council is operating a two-tier prioritisation scheme whereby
children who attend any of the schools which have allowed
Cwmbran Community Council to use their site and facilities
have first priority to register for the schemes. Each participating
school will let every child have a Parents Information Booklet
and a Child Registration Form which should be completed and
returned to Cwmbran Community Council. All other children
who attend other schools within the Cwmbran Community Council
area or live in the Cwmbran Community Council area but attend
other schools are allowed to apply for registration at any
time (parents are asked to contact us on 01633 838456 or to
call in to our offices to collect a registration form). However,
these applications will not be considered, until after 20th
June 2003. All forms will, however, be time and date stamped,
again, to allow registration to occur on a "first come,
first served" basis.
