Congress Theatre
The Congress Theatre in Cwmbran is a key cultural and performance venue serving our community. Opened in 1972 and operated today by a volunteer-led charitable company, it hosts a wide range of local and touring performances, fosters community groups and youth theatre, and helps sustain arts participation across Torfaen.
Cwmbran Community Council is proud to be a core funding partner of the Congress Theatre. The Council has provided ongoing annual core funding support to the Theatre for many years as part of its commitment to promoting cultural activity in Cwmbran.
The Congress Theatre remains an important community asset, its work supported by volunteers and public funding, including that from Cwmbran Community Council, reflecting our long-standing partnership to enrich local cultural life.
