Cwmbran Centre for Young People
The Cwmbran Centre for Young People (CCYP) is a vital local youth service based in the heart of Cwmbran. It provides a safe, inclusive, open-access space for young people from early years up to age 25, offering support, activities, skills development, mentoring, training opportunities and social engagement. CCYP works in partnership with a wide range of local organisations to help young people build confidence, develop life skills, access education and training, and transition successfully into adulthood.
Cwmbran Community Council has been a core funding partner of CCYP for many years. This core funding has helped sustain the Centre’s ongoing programmes and activities that benefit hundreds of young people across the town, complementing other funding sources and partnership support. CCYP’s work contributes to community well-being by providing positive opportunities, reducing antisocial behaviour, and supporting young people’s personal development and aspirations.
The Council also maintains strong engagement with CCYP through representation on its management structures, reinforcing the long-standing partnership between the Council and the Centre.
