Cwmbran Community Council allocates significant annual funding to support play opportunities for children and young people during the summer holidays and other holiday periods. The opportunities see the engagement of approximately 1,200 children and young people attending per day during the summer, and 350 daily during every half term.
The council and Torfaen Play work in partnership to ensure there is a wide variety of opportunities for children and young people to access safe, staffed environments where children can engage in recreational activities and social interaction.
By supporting these play opportunities, the council promotes inclusive play opportunities that cater to a variety of interests and needs, fostering community well-being and providing parents/carers with peace of mind during school breaks. This commitment highlights the council’s dedication to enhancing the quality of life for children, young people and families in the area.
