The tree-lighting was a great success despite the weather. Many members of the community braved the rain and gathered around the tree to sing carols, beautifully accompanied by the Salvation Army Band.
After the lights were switched on, everyone headed indoors for even more festive fun, including free Christmas crafts, refreshments, face painting and balloons.
Children were especially delighted to visit Santa in his grotto, where each one received a free gift.
It was wonderful to see the community come together and enjoy the evening. The rain certainly didn’t dampen the festive spirit!
